Photo Project: Documenting Space and Time

Reflection on Project
Our first project in BDS 102 was to create a collage of 70 or more photos that show one location, subject, or idea over time and space. As a mapping exercise, we were encouraged to experiment with different perspectives and camera settings, as well as combining shots that show one place over an extended period of time. This project was something I had never thought of doing before. It was new and engaging. I really enjoyed all the ideas that developed from experimenting. I learned that you have to try things and just go with it to find that final result that will satisfy you. It was a little challenging at first when I was trying to think of how to possibly get 70 plus photos into one collage when we had to stick with the same subject, but once I started shooting and laying things out it all kind of came together. It helped me a lot (and saved me money not buying experimental prints) to layout my pictures on the computer and get a basic understanding of the final size and composition before starting. By doing this I was able to use every photo I had printed. My suggestion for next year would be to find photo printing coupons for CVS or Walgreens and then print your photos (I figured this out after I had mine printed already).
